FAQs

  • Why leather?

Leather is a 100% natural product. The leather I use is produced entirely in the UK, from the farm to the tannery, and all the leather used in the saddlery trade is a by-product of the meat industry. It takes a waste product and turns it into something with longevity, beauty and purpose. When it can finally no longer be used, leather is fully bio-degradable.

  • Why bespoke?

A handmade bridle made from quality leather will, if looked after correctly, last you the majority, if not all, of your riding life. A bespoke bridle is therefore an investment. Where needed, for example following the purchase of a new horse, parts can be altered, the fit can be adjusted, and because I always use the same leather, new parts can be made if needed that will match with the old.

Most importantly, for your horse, a correctly-fitted bridle, like a well-fitting saddle, will promote soundness and performance, and is essential to the welfare of the animal.

  • How do I look after my bridle?

Leather is a skin, so my golden rule is: be as kind to it as you are to your own face! In an ideal world, give it a wipe down after every ride with a gentle detergent to remove the grease and sweat, let it air dry and then follow with a good quality conditioner to replace any lost moisture.

  • Do you deal with saddles?

I don’t fit or sell saddles, but I do undertake some saddle repairs, such as replacing girth straps, or stitching which may have come loose or worn. In most cases, if the saddle is still relatively new, it’s best to contact the manufacturer regarding repairs, especially if the saddle is still under warranty.

  • What is your returns policy?

Standard stock items purchased online can be returned for a full refund provided they are returned in an unused condition and within 14 days of purchase. The cost of return postage is the customer’s responsibility and proof of postage is recommended. Bespoke or custom orders are non-returnable unless they are deemed to be faulty, in which case you should contact us immediately. Please see our full delivery & returns policy for further details.
