Fitting Appointments
I offer a bespoke service for bridles and headcollars. If you are based within a 20-mile radius of either my home or workshop, I can come to you to measure your horse and discuss what you’d like to order. Full details of fitting fees and mileage costs are given on the booking page.
Bridles
A horse cannot perform to the best of its ability in a bridle which does not fit correctly. I offer fitting appointments with no obligation to buy. We will assess your existing bridle and I will fully explain the reasoning behind any changes that I recommend. Sometimes bridle parts can be adjusted, and individual parts can always be made to match the rest of your bridle.
Alternatively, you may wish to purchase a bespoke bridle, in which case we will discuss your requirements in terms of ridden disciplines and design, and I will measure your horse. I carry bridle parts with me so that you can ride in a bridle before committing to an order. Prices for bespoke bridles depend on the type and style, but a traditional flat hunter-style cavesson bridle starts at £200. Reins are charged as a separate item.
If you decide to buy a bespoke headcollar and bridle together, there is no additional fee for the headcollar fitting.
Headcollars
Ever found what you thought was the perfect headcollar, only to find it had just one buckle when you’d prefer two, or you didn’t have the adjustability you were hoping for? Book a headcollar fitting with me so we can take your horse’s measurements and go through exactly what you’d like for the perfect headcollar. Bespoke headcollars cost a flat rate £220*.
